Life’s a Beach

So you can probably tell from the title, this isn’t going to be one of my typical posts. I attribute it to the fact that I’m on vacation at the beach, one of my favorite places to be this time of year. The weather has been absolutely perfect, breezy, sunny and just warm enough. The water is beautifully hypnotic with its gentle ripples of blue green hues. The sunsets have set the sky on fire with shades of orange and red, and pink shaded clouds. Just a few of the reasons I love the beach…

I get such a sense of tranquility here, even among noisy children, continual traffic, and music blaring from passing cars. Looking across the water makes me feel comfortingly small and insignificant. I get a tiny glimpse of the hugeness of God. The water peacefully yet relentlessly laimageps the sand, like days upon weeks upon months upon years that pass over the course of our lives. Days of routine and monotony, yet filled with the miracle of spectacular beauty so often and easily missed.

The limitless thoughts of God toward every person reflected in the grains of sand upon the shore, depict His infinite incomprehensibility. Tonight the sky is shades of pink and purple, the water  a stunning shade of turquoise. Another work of art by the Artist Extraordinaire. And as the sun makes its descent below the horizon, another people in another land are rising to a new morning.
